The Attempt To Smash The Irish Transport And General Workers Union has been newly added to this website.
The Irish Labour History Society has just added this important 1924 partisan account of the split in the ITGWU to our website here. This split, following Larkin’s return from the United States of America in April 1923, resulted in the formation of the Workers’ Union of Ireland.
The reproduced text, is accompanied by an introduction from Shay Cody, President of the Irish Labour History Society, along with a ‘Who’s Who’ of the Irish Transport and General Workers Union Executive. The Society wishes to acknowledge the great work of Dr Gerry Watts in digitising this report.
