The book is a deeply researched, 395-pp. history of social partnership from its origins to the 2010s. It is based on a deep trawl through the records on social partnership in the Dept./Taoiseach archive, as well as those of the ICTU, NESC and other bodies. It also builds on interviews with many key people involved at the time, incl. former Taoisigh, union, business and community sector leaders, as well as the literature on the subject and the press of the time. For more information on it, to pre-order a copy of it at a reduced rate, or to register to attend its launch on 1st September by Mr Dermot McCarthy in Doheny & Nesbitt’s on Baggot St., at 6pm, or 2nd September by Bertie Ahern in The Abbey Tavern, Howth, at 7pm, see at https://howthfreepress.com/haughey or email me directly via howthfreepress@gmail.com.
