Document Study Of The Dublin Trades Hall
A new document study of the Dublin Trades Hall, Capel Street, has been added to the ‘Document Studies’ section of the Society website. It can be accessed directly here
This study, by Shay Cody, shows that the Trades Hall was more than a meeting place for the Dublin Trades Council and its affiliates.
Described as a magnificent building, it contained a large theatre, council chamber, billiard room, library and bar. Some of the original library collection is in the possession of the Irish Labour History Society, including copies of the Irish Builder Journal and the collected works of Jonathan Swift.
