1913 – 2013 Lockout Centenary

This dedicated section to the 1913 Lockout, comprising of relevant items of interest, was created at the conclusion of the centenary celebrations in 2013. This section consists of articles published by the Irish Labour History Society since its founding, along with other related items.

The 26th of August 2013, marks the anniversary of the start of the 1913 Lockout and Strike
Tram workers deserted their vehicles in protest when William Martin Murphy forbade employees of his Dublin United Tramways Company to be members of Larkin’s Irish Transport and General Workers Union (ITGWU).
