Heritage Week Event On Saturday 24th August, 10AM-1PM
As previously posted, the Irish Labour History Society received funding support from the Heritage Council under the Communtiy Heritage Grants Scheme 2024 towards conservation of a number of unique items in the Society collections. This included much required conservation work on a unique Irish Women Workers Union banner from circa 1922, along with a museum display case to display original Irish Citizen Army uniforms that are stored in the Society premises in Beggars Bush.
As part of Heritage Week 2024, the Society will be hosting an open day on Saturday 24th August from 10AM to 1PM where many of the unique items in the Society’s collections will be on display and where members of the public can obtain a tour of the premises. Although the Irish Women Workers Union banner is currently off-site undertaking conservation work, many other historic trade union banners and the original Irish Citizen Army uniforms will be on display.
All welcome. Further details available on the Heritage Week website here
