Dublin May Day March – 1st May 2026
This year the Dublin Council of Trade Unions and the ICTU Youth Committee are collaborating on the annual Dublin May Day march, rally and social event. The theme, with a campaign leading up to May Day, and coinciding with the Better in a Trade Union week, will be ’Can you afford to live?’ The theme arises from the worsening cost of living, housing and healthcare crises, with an emphasis on the role of young people in strengthening our movement.
The march will assemble at 6.30 pm (for a 7.00 pm start) on Friday 1st May at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square, Dublin. It will proceed to Beresford Place, outside Liberty Hall, for a rally with the following speakers.
Hollie Gregg, Co-Chair, ICTU Youth Committee
Gerry Rooney, Neutrality and the Triple Lock
Aisling Hedderman, Community Action Tenants Union (CATU)
Eddie Conlon, Affordable Ireland Campaign
Song: Jimi Cullen
Chair: Alison Regan (SIPTU & President DCTU)
Following the rally there will be a social evening with words and music for Mayday in Cleary’s bar on Amien street (opposite Connolly station), 8.30pm – 12pm.
