A selection of material from the Post Office Workers Union records held in the Society Collections relating to the seminal 1922 Postal Strike. The support of the Communications Workers Union and Dublin City Library & Archives in making these available is much appreciated.

Irish Postal & Telegraph Guardian

The Official organ of the Irish Postal Union. This edition is dominated by coverage of the Irish Postal Union’s first Annual conference, held in the Oak Room of the Mansion House in Dublin on the 21st and 22nd of February, which agreed to strike in the event of the anticipated government imposed wage cut. The reports list branches and their conference delegates, the Chairman’s address, the strike resolution and a full minuting of the two day conference. 8 pages, including the covers are devoted to paid advertisements.
