Postal Union Strike 1922

A selection of material from the Post Office Workers Union records held in the Society Collections relating to the seminal 1922 Postal Strike. The support of the Communications Workers Union and Dublin City Library & Archives in making these available is much appreciated.

Correspondence with the Government

Correspondance to and from the Government before and during the Strike. The first items contain the signature of P.S. O'Hegarty on the old colonial Post Office stationary, with 'On His Majesty's Service' being crossed out. J.J. Walsh, T.D. writes to the Rate Payers Association describing the strike as "this most complete conspiracy against the people".
